Biography and Artist Statement

Award winning artist Lisa Moore creates paintings that evoke a sense of the familiar. Through integration of color and painterly strokes with her knife, forms and colors combine to create poignant memories of people, places and time.

Moore’s work is instinctive and has an underlying theme of the beauty that exists in our lives.

"People are bombarded daily with images of all that is wrong and ugly in our world. Sometimes that constant flow of negativity establishes an overarching melancholy and cynicism...and we forget we have a choice in our perspective," she says. “My hope is that through my art, viewers will choose to tap into the feelings of joy, comfort and happiness that stem from the simple things of everyday life --- holding a child's hand, feeling the warmth of an animal, or remembering a place or time that holds meaning."

Moore's works are held in collections throughout the southeast and abroad.
